Instinct vs iPhone part two

I think Sprint is brilliant for this marketing campaign. I love the new commercials and this one really wraps it up as to why consumers should move to Sprint. So if anyone can tell me why AT&T and not Sprint let it be heard.... The iPhone is losing this battle for sure.

@JNGold... I agree on WM, Nokia and Palm. iPhone is not yet good at PIM.

@bluewater... Although Apple has made apps easy for download. For the long term... by constricting development of apps... I do not see the iPhone living a "long and productive life" as a smartphone. Feature phone yes. Apple could have done it better.
This is a smart ad for Sprint. The irony is the iPhone 3G's hardware is capable of so much more, but Apple's net-centric control-freak iron grip on the device is dragging it down.

The iPhone will sell more in the end, if for no other reason than the legions of iHeads.

Incidentally, AT&T coverage sucks in my area; Sprint coverage is much better. Has an iPhone 3G unlock been released? I know there was that piggy-back SIM solution awhile back, but there hasn't been the unlocking activity with the subsidized 3G that surrounded the original iPhone.

P.S. I'm loving my Omnia. Not as slick as the iPhone, but absolutely rock solid and Garmin XT gives me better GPS functionality. With Samsung's Today screen, I have better touch access to the functionality I use 99% of the time than I did on the iPhone.
It seems to me that the instinct is just one step above a feature phone. For someone who really wants these "features" and not much more, products like the instinct fit well. However, for people who want their phone to do more than the default functionality of what the device offers, devices like the iPhone, WM, Palm, and Nokia devices still are better choices.
* Web browsing is still better on the iPhone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cPqx4dTq4k&feature=related
* Easily downloadable apps
* iPhone is still a nicer looking phone
* Each track from the Sprint Music Store is priced at a premium of $2.50. Yet, to use a track as a ring tone, you have to pay an additional $2.50. In order to play purchased music, you must access the Music Store.
* As someone else has stated Developers or applications.
* iPhone is unlockable to any GSM network
Very funny - very true. Straight to the point. Even though I love my iPhone and I'm fairly happy (at times) with AT&T - you can't really argue a solid advertisement like this. Good stuff David.
Steve,
I know you are not happy with the Iphone,

three words: Developer,Developer,Developer.
I think at the end Apple will win out.

No I am not a apple fanboy!
I don't own any apple product, but will problaby get a Iphone at Christmas.

I have a 700p Treo and it reset aleast once a week.
